We report three cases of symptomatic stenosis of the great vessels or supra-aortic trunks successfully treated surgically with aorto-subclavian and aorto-innominate bypass. Two were performed via manubriotomy and a third case via standard median sternotomy because of concomitant coronary revascularisation. There was complete symptomatic relief on follow-up, and radiological imaging confirmed subclavian steal in 3 patients; 1 patient showed segmental occlusion of innominate artery at its origin with focal stenosis of proximal left subclavian artery with retrograde flow in vertebral artery of right side only. The diagnosis of subclavian steal was made primarily using time-resolved CE MRA, which was quite reliable and Subclavian Steal Syndrome (SSS) refers to a vascular disorder, a rare form of periphery artery disease in which a blockage is present in a critical location within one of the Subclavian arteries which gives rise to problems involving the arm and the brain. Subclavian stenosis imaging

There are specific names for Spinal stenosis is a condition characterized by the narrowing of the spaces in the spinal cord. This condition creates pressure on the nerves along the spinal column. There are two types of spinal stenosis that can be distinguished by where The bones of the spine create a channel for the spinal cord and nerve roots. Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of this channel, most commonly due to degenerative spinal disease associated with aging.

After reviewing the benefits and risks with the patient, left subclavian artery angioplasty and stent intervention were performed ( Figure 3 ). In cases where a question of possible subclavian steal syndrome is only raised in the light of the 3D CEMRA sequence diagnosing unsuspected subclavian or brachiocephalic stenosis, the patient must be recalled for an additional procedure, either MR angiography or Doppler sonography. subclavian/brachiocephalic stenosis or occlu-sion on 3D CEMRA (Figs. 2 and 3).

12 Transcranial Doppler may be more useful in the setting of neurological symptoms. Duplex ultrasound with color flow imaging is the noninvasive modality of choice in the evaluation of subclavian artery disease. Dampened or monophasic waveforms, turbulent color flow imaging, and increased velocities in the region of stenosis are characteristic findings of obstruction. This study evaluates the diagnostic value of the hemodynamic parameters of color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) for severe (70 to 99%) subclavian artery stenosis (SAS) using digital subtraction angiography (DSA) as the reference standard.

In progressive subclavian steno-occlusion, the filling of the vertebral artery becomes are superior to saphenous vein grafts. If there is subclavian artery stenosis (SAS) proximal to the IMA graft, impairment of flow to the IMA may occur. If the stenosis is severe, retrograde flow from the grafted coronary artery to the brachial artery may lead to angina. Following the identification of 2 cases of Subclavian steal syndrome (SSS), also called subclavian steal steno-occlusive disease, is a constellation of signs and symptoms that arise from retrograde (reversed) blood flow in the vertebral artery or the internal thoracic artery, due to a proximal stenosis (narrowing) and/or occlusion of the subclavian artery. 2021-03-08 · Imaging studies that may be considered include duplex ultrasonography (US), computed tomography (CT) angiography (CTA), four-vessel cerebral arteriography, magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and The subclavian stenosis or atresia can be documented by catheter X‐ray angiography, during which the reversal of vertebral artery flow can be demonstrated by selective injection of the contralateral vertebral artery. Unlabelled: Subclavian steal syndrome (SSS) involves changes in hemodynamics secondary to proximal subclavian artery stenosis and/or occlusion where the subclavian artery "drains" the blood from Background: The purpose of this study was to determine the risk of stroke in subclavian steal syndrome (SSS).

Color doppler imaging in the subclavian axillary region and upper extremity Clinical Imaging, Vol. 18, No. 3 Intravascular Stents in the Management of Acute Superior Vena Cava Obstruction of Benign Etiology Subclavian artery occlusion or significant stenosis proximal to the origin of the vertebral artery results in lower pressure in the distal subclavian artery. Blood flows from the contralateral vertebral artery to the basilar artery and may flow in a retrograde direction down the ipsilateral vertebral artery. Subclavian steal syndrome affects the artery that supplies blood to the neck and head or the arteries that supply blood to the arms.
