Our immediate goal is to promote scientific research in Colorado through the use of Functional Genomics. Our ultimate goal is to catalyze discoveries that will positively impact the quality of human life. We will achieve this by: - Facilitating access to tools to investigate gene function on a genome-wide scale. Functional Genomics Reciprocal copy number variant (rCNV) of a segment of chromosome 16p11.2 (OMIM #611913) is one of the most significant recurrent genomic disorders. It has been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), schizophrenia, and obesity. The mechanism of NAHR-mediated The Core is directed by Dr. Rob Knight, an internationally recognized expert in microbiomics, and co-directed by Dr. Sven Heinz, an expert in functional genomics. Dr. Kristen Jepsen serves as co-investigator and is the director of the IGM Genomics Center at UCSD, which performs all sequencing-based assays for the Core.
Welcome to the Functional Genomics Core. The Functional Genomics Core performs expression profiling, SNP genotyping and copy number microarray (Thermo Fisher) services.
